Republican Glenn Youngkin is now the governor of Virginia, following a race which saw education become the number one determining factor in his victory against democrat Terry McAuliffe.
In the hours following Youngkin’s victory, the left-wing media has entered into meltdown mode.
They claim that Youngkin’s victory was based off of his stance against critical race theory, which they also claim is not being taught in schools.
This begs the question:
Is critical race theory a “boogeyman” made up by conservatives, or are leftists simply lying again?
If you’re here, you already know the answer, but let me answer the question anyways.
CRT is absolutely real, and it it is also taught in Virginia.
The Virginia education department said so themselves, in spite of McAuliffe’s claims to the contrary.
The New York Post has more on McAuliffe’s false claim that CRT isn’t taught in Virginia schools:
“It’s not taught in Virginia and it’s never been taught in Virginia,” McAuliffe said recently. “And as I’ve said this a lot, it’s a dog whistle. It’s racial, it’s division and it’s used by Glenn Youngkin and others, it’s the same thing with Trump and the border wall, to divide people. We should not be dividing people in school.”
But City Journal’s Christopher Rufo, an anti-CRT writer, tweeted today that he could “debunk that lie.” Rufo shared screenshots in which the state’s education department described critical race theory as a “best practice.”
In the screenshots provided by Rufo below, a memo was sent to Virginia public schools endorsing the “Foundations of Critical Race Theory in Education.”
The memo came directly from James Lane, the Superintendent of Public Instruction.
Furthermore, the memo states that “CRT has proven an important analytic tool in the field of education.”
Virginia’s Department of Education’s website also calls critical race theory a “best practice,” and derives the definition of racism itself from critical race theory.
McAuliffe also recently insinuated that there were too many white teachers in schools:
With all this in mind, watch as MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace has an absolute meltdown over Youngkin’s victory over McAuliffe, which was helped along by Youngkin’s own stance against CRT:
Wallace really pulled out all the buzzwords from the liberal playbook here: “Trump,” “deadly insurrection,” “Fox News,” “the Big Lie.”
In the end, she settled on lying about critical race theory, a common media strategy from MSNBC and other fake news networks as of late:
The media has desperately tried to distract everyone from the radical democrat agenda.
Luckily, Americans are waking up.
